TD21 Brake Pipe Query

Postby durhamsmudger » Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:24 pm

Hi
I am just starting the process of replacing all the car's brake lines - what a hodge podge !

Ive found a combination of 3/16" & 1/4" pipe and associated fittings, aluminium and copper.

My question is, should everything be 1/4" pipe 7/16" fittings?
Thanks
Cheers
Alan

Alan,

I would give Chris Prince a call. My TA21 has the same "bundy" type pipe throughout the chassis. I have no reason to see why yours should be any different unless altered in the past.

Yes I will, I'm going to his place at the end of the month to pick up some unpostable bits, so I'll take a list of questions as well

Alan,

I checked the piping on the TA21. The tube nuts are 7/16th UNF which take 1/4inch pipe work. You will find that a 11mm metric brake spanner will be a very good fit for the 7/16th fittings.
